Found by accident! Only able to stay for one night as passing through - but loved the place! Recommend the rhubarb crumble!, and the great selection of ales in the bar.

Returned, as promised for 2 nights - last week in February . Snow forecast, but welcome warm as always from Dave and his team.
Nothing too much trouble - comfortable room, log fire in bar, and great, locally sourced food. trout fish cakes to die for!

I was told by my uncle who traveled to the uk that there was a hotel with our family's last name. I hope to travel and stay there one night

Stayed in Early October 2009 ( Return visit!)
This is a very friendly , good value, comfortable, family run hotel. The facilities are excellent . There is ample parking, a bar with real ales, and a cosy fire in winter, and good , home cooked food.
A great place to relax and get away from the bustle of everyday life - thoroughly recommended .
David and his team could not have been more helpful - will return !

This was my second extended stay here and I would have no hesitation in coming here again. The hotel is comfortable and its staff friendly, the room was excellent, and the food attractive and well served. A good bar and ample parking within the premises completes the picture.
The hotel is an excellent centre for exploring the many unique attractions of Teesdale and its nearby companion Weardale.

My wife and I have stayed with friends at this hotel twice and we have all enjoyed our stay.The rooms are exceptionally clean plus all the bed linen and towels are a sparkling white..We all had Bed & Breakfast plus evening meal the food was absolutely fabulous.The staff were very friendly and catered to all of our various whims.I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the Teesdale area.We will certainly be returning for another enjoyable stay.

We called in for an evening meal on spec with a hungry 13 month old toddler, and had a super meal, friendly helpful staff and were made to feel most welcome with a small child.Nothing was too much trouble.
Will visit again when in the area, have recommended friends to visit soon.

Hotel warm and cosy (it was a cold weekend for June!). Bedroom was lovely and fresh as was our breakfast! Staff very friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay here again.

Hi Dave,
